Why I’m Not Selling Shrimp Right Now (And Why That’s a Good Thing)
Share
If you’ve visited Errly Aquatics recently and noticed that shrimp are unavailable, you’re not imagining things.
I’ve intentionally paused sales.
And no — it’s not because anything is wrong. It’s actually the opposite.
This is one of the most important phases for a serious shrimp breeder, and I want to be transparent about why I’m doing it and why it ultimately benefits you, your tank, and the long-term quality of the shrimp I produce.
Demand Has Grown Faster Than Production
Over the past months, Errly Aquatics has grown more than I ever expected. Messages, orders, and interest in my shrimp have increased to the point where I’m faced with a decision every real breeder eventually has to make:
- Keep selling because people are asking
- or
- Protect the colonies so they can scale properly
I chose the second option. Because long-term quality matters more than short-term sales.
The Hidden Cost of “Just One More Order”
When a breeder keeps pulling shrimp to keep up with demand, a few things quietly start happening:
- Breeding groups get thinned out
- Colony growth slows down
- Genetics can weaken over time
- Stress on the shrimp increases
- Future production drops
Most hobby sellers don’t notice this until months later when their tanks aren’t producing like they used to.
I refuse to let that happen here.
What I’m Doing Instead
Right now, I’m in what professional breeders call a Breeder Expansion Phase.
- I am not harvesting shrimp for sale
- I’m allowing colonies to multiply without interruption
- I’m separating and strengthening breeding groups
- I’m increasing overall population density in my tanks
- I’m setting Errly Aquatics up to produce far more shrimp at a higher quality level
This takes time. About 6–8 weeks of patience. But the result is massive.
Why This Is Good for You
- You receive shrimp from strong, thriving colonies
- You get better coloration and genetics
- You’re buying from a system that isn’t stressed or over-harvested
- Your shrimp arrive healthier and more resilient
In short: you’re getting shrimp that were never rushed to market.
Scarcity Isn’t an Accident
This isn’t a marketing tactic. This is livestock management done correctly.
But there is a side effect: Errly Aquatics shrimp are worth waiting for.

When Will Shrimp Be Available Again?
I expect to reopen orders in about two months with significantly more stock available than before — without sacrificing quality.
If you want to be the first to know when sales resume, follow along on social media or join the waitlist. I’ll announce it there first.
Thank You for the Support
The fact that I even have to make this decision is because of the incredible support this community has shown Errly Aquatics.
This pause is my way of making sure I can continue to serve you for years to come — not just for the next few weeks.
Quality over speed. Always.
