Orange Eye Trait Carriers – Neocaridina Shrimp
These Orange Eye Trait Carriers come directly from my project colonies and are confirmed carriers of the Orange Eye gene, produced from an Orange Eye × Black Eye cross. While they appear as normal black-eyed Neocaridina, each shrimp carries the Orange Eye trait, making them perfect for hobbyists looking to build or strengthen an Orange Eye line.
When bred together, these carriers reliably produce about 25% Orange Eye offspring. When paired with a true Orange Eye shrimp, you can expect around 50% Orange Eye babies. They’re an excellent choice for those seeking an affordable entry point into Orange Eye breeding, or for hobbyists who don’t mind waiting a generation to grow their colony.
PLEASE NOTE: These are NOT Orange Eye shrimp; they are carriers of the Orange Eye gene.
🔹 Recommended Water Parameters
For best success, keep these shrimp in a fully cycled aquarium within the following ranges:
• pH: 6.6 – 7.6
• GH: 6 – 9
• KH: 2 – 4
• TDS: 180 – 250
• Temperature: 68 – 74°F
Stable parameters are far more important than hitting exact numbers.
🔹 What You’ll Receive
• Healthy shrimp from my Orange Eye carrier breeding colony

💧 Acclimation Recommendation
Shrimp are sensitive to sudden parameter changes, so slow acclimation is important:
-
Float the bag for 15–20 minutes to equalize temperature.
-
Slowly add tank water to the bag over 45–90 minutes (drip acclimation works best).
-
Gently net the shrimp into your aquarium.
-
Do not add shipping water to your tank.
